Rabstejn Tower

Rabstejn tower (in some sources cited as Rabenstejn) is one of the two surviving towers which were part of the city walls. It dates back to the late 14th century. It was reconstructed into its present form in 1551. The repair was necessary after an explosion of a stored gunpowder in 1620. Although the surrounding walls were demolished in the 19th century, the tower was preserved along with the rest of the fortification gallery. In the past, the tower was used as a prison.
